بَعدَما نامَ سامِرُ الرُكبانِ
O night visitor, you who have brought me anguish,
O night visitor who has sought me out,
after the caravan’s night-talkers had fallen asleep,
After the riders’ nighttime companion had fallen asleep,
زارَvisited مِنfrom نازِحٍa distant place بِغَيرِwithout دَليلٍa guide
زارَ مِن نازِحٍ بِغَيرِ دَليلٍ
يَتَخَطّىstrides إِلَيَّtoward me حَتّىuntil أَتانيcame to me
يَتَخَطّى إِلَيَّ حَتّى أَتاني
coming from afar, without a guide,
He visited from afar without a guide,
making his way toward me until at last he reached me.
Striding toward me until he reached me.
