Sol 6.1

  1. أَرسَلَت هِندٌ إِلَينا رَسولاً

    عاتِباً أَن ما لَنا لا نَراكا

    Hind sent a messenger to us,

    Reproaching us: “Why is it we do not see you?

  2. فيمَ قَد أَجمَعتَ عَنّا صُدوداً

    أَأَرَدتَ الصَرمَ أَم ما عَداكا

    Why have you resolved to turn away from us?

    Did you intend to sever ties, or what has kept you away?

  3. إِن تَكُن حاوَلتَ غَيظي بِهَجري

    فَلَقَد أَدرَكتَ ما قَد كَفاكا

    If you have tried to anger me by forsaking me,

    Then you have surely achieved enough to satisfy you.

  4. كاذِباً قَد يَعلَمُ اللَهُ رَبّي

    أَنَّني لَم أَجنِ ما كُنهُ ذاكا

    You are lying—God, my Lord, surely knows

    That I have done no wrong—what is that really about?

  5. وَأُلَبّي داعِياً إِن دَعاني

    وَتَصامَم عامِداً إِن دَعاكا

    And I answer a caller if he calls me,

    While you deliberately turn a deaf ear if he calls you.

  6. وَأُكَذِّب كاشِحاً إِن أَتاني

    وَتُصَدِّق كاشِحاً إِن أَتاكا

    And I disbelieve a spiteful foe if he comes to me,

    While you believe a spiteful foe if he comes to you.

  7. إِنَّ في الأَرضِ مَساحاً عَريضاً

    وَمَناديحَ كَثيراً سِواكا

    Indeed, there is ample space upon the earth,

    And many places to turn besides you.

  8. غَيرَ أَنّي فَاِعلَمَن ذاكَ حَقّاً

    لا أَرى النِعمَةَ حَتّى أَراكا

    Yet I—know this for certain—

    See no bliss until I see you.”

  9. قُلتُ مَهما تَجِدي بي فَإِنّي

    أُظهِرُ الوُدَّ لَكُم فَوقَ ذاكا

    I said, “Whatever love you feel for me, I

    Show you affection greater than that.

  10. أَنتِ هَمّي وَأَحاديثُ نَفسي

    ما تَغَيَّبتِ وَإِذ ما أَراكا

    You are my preoccupation and my inward conversations,

    While you are absent and when I see you.”
