The heart has become a captive in the snares,
Mortally wounded the day it parted from those journeying away.

The doom of parting hastened upon us,
With departure, though we had not feared she would leave.

Her tears streaming copiously into her cloak.

'Before your imminent parting, grant us your favor.

Openly, though we had not feared that he would perish.'

And white oryx with large, wide-open eyes.

She captivated me with her eye and her neck,
And with a face that shines for those who look.

I said, 'Who are you?' She turned away and said:
'Do you put your question to all the world?'

You have made my heart lovesick, tell us the truth.
