عَفَتbecame effaced عَرَفاتٌʿArafāt فَالمَصائِفُand al-Maṣāʾif (summer grounds) مِنof هِندِHind
فَأَوحَشَso became desolate ماwhat lies بَينَbetween الجَريبَينِal-Jarībayn فَالنَهدِand al-Nahd
Hind’s traces have faded at ʿArafāt and al-Maṣāʾif, the summer grounds.
So the land between al-Jarībayn and al-Nahd has grown desolate.
وَغَيَّرَهاand changed them طولُlength التَقادُمِthe passage of time وَالبَلىand decay
فَلَيسَتso they are not كَماas كانَتthey used to تَكونُbe عَلىin العَهدِformer days
And the long passage of time and decay have changed them.
So they are not as they used to be in former days.
تَرَكواthey left خَيشاًKhaysh عَلىon أَيمانِهِمtheir right sides
وَيَسوماًand Yasūm عَنto يَسارِthe left of المُنجِدِthe traveler bound for Najd
They left Khaysh on their right,
And Yasūm to the left of the traveler bound for Najd.
