راحَ صَحبي وَعاوَدَ القَلبَ داءُ

راحَ صَحبي وَعاوَدَ القَلبَ داءُ

مِن حَبيبٍ طِلابُهُ لي عَناءُ

مِن حَبيبٍ طِلابُهُ لي عَناءُ

My companions departed, and an affliction returned to my heart,

My friend left and my heart's sickness returned

from a beloved whose pursuit is torment to me.

From a beloved whose seeking causes me torment

حَسَنُ الرَأيِ وَالمَواعيدِ لا يُل

حَسَنُ الرَأيِ وَالمَواعيدِ لا يُل

فى لِشَيءٍ مِمّا يَقولُ وَفاءُ

فى لِشَيءٍ مِمّا يَقولُ وَفاءُ

Fair in his intentions and promises, yet no

Good advice and promises - he does not keep

fulfillment is found for anything he says.

To anything that he says in faithfulness

مَن تَعَزّى عَمَّن يُحِبُّ فَإِنّي

مَن تَعَزّى عَمَّن يُحِبُّ فَإِنّي

لَيسَ لي ما حَيِيتُ عَنهُ عَزاءُ

لَيسَ لي ما حَيِيتُ عَنهُ عَزاءُ

Whoever finds solace apart from the one he loves—but as for me,

He who finds solace from one whom he loves, I am not

as long as I live, I have no solace apart from him.

For as long as I live, over him there is no consolation
