لَم يُخلَقُ السَماءُ والنُجومُ

لَم يُخلَقُ السَماءُ والنُجومُ

والشَمسُ مَعها قَمرٌ يَقومُ

والشَمسُ مَعها قَمرٌ يَقومُ

The sky and the stars were not created,

The heavens and stars were not created,

nor the sun, with a moon rising beside it,

Nor the sun with the moon rising beside.

قدَّرَه المُهَيمِنُ القَيّومُ

قدَّرَه المُهَيمِنُ القَيّومُ

والحشُّ والجَنَّةُ والنَعيمُ

والحشُّ والجَنَّةُ والنَعيمُ

which the Guardian, the Ever-Sustaining, ordained,

Ordained by the Almighty, the Eternal,

nor the palm grove, Paradise, and bliss,

Jinns, gardens, and pleasures sublime,

إِلاَّ لأَمرٍ شأنُهُ عَظيم

إِلاَّ لأَمرٍ شأنُهُ عَظيم

except for a purpose of great significance.

Except for a matter of greatest import.
