حَنانيكَYour mercy! إِنَّindeed الجِنَّthe jinn كُنتَYou were رَجاءَهُمtheir hope

Have mercy! Indeed, You were the jinn's hope.
Your tenderness, for the jinn were your hope
Could I see myself worshipping a second god besides You, O God?
I see none worthier of worship but You, my God
وَأَنتَand You الَّذيwho مِنfrom فَضلِbounty مَنٍّfavor وَرَحمَةٍand mercy
بَعثتَYou sent إِلىto موسىMoses رَسولاًa messenger مُنادِياcalling out

And You are the One who, through bountiful favor and mercy,
You who in Your grace and mercy
Sent to Moses a messenger calling out.
Sent Moses a messenger calling out

He said: Help me with my mother's son, for I
Saying help me with the son of my people for

I have much need of him, my Lord equip me
فَقُلتَthen You said لَهُto him فإِذهَبso go وَهرونَand Aaron فَاَدعوthen call
إِلىto اللَهِGod فِرعَونَPharaoh الَّذيwho كانَwas طاغِياtyrannical
Then You said to him: Go, you and Aaron, and call
You said to him: Go take Aaron and call
Pharaoh, who was a tyrant, to God.
Pharaoh who had been a tyrant
وَقولاand both say لَهُto him أَأَنتَwas it you? سَويتَyou fashioned هَذِهِthis

And both say to him: Was it you who fashioned this
And say to him: Did you make this
Without a peg, until it settled just as it is?
Without foundation until it was stable as it is?
وَقولاand both say لَهُto him أَأَنتَwas it you? رَفَّعتَyou raised هَذِهِthis
بِلاwithout عَمَدٍpillars أَرفِقhow deft! إِذاًthen بِكَwith you بانِياas a builder
And both say to him: Was it you who raised this
And say to him: Did you raise this
Without pillars? How deft a builder you would then be!
Without pillars? Then be gentle with your Builder
وَقولاand both say لَهُto him أَأَنتَwas it you? سَوَّيتَyou fashioned وَسطَهاin its midst
مُنيراًshining إِذاwhen ماemphatic particle جَنَّهُenfolded it اللَيلُthe night هادِياguiding
And both say to him: Was it you who fashioned in its midst
And say to him: Did you make its center
A shining guide whenever night enfolds it?
Illuminated, a guide when night covers it?
وَقولاand both say لَهُto him مَنwho يُرسِلُsends forth الشَمسَthe sun غَدوَةًat dawn
فيُصبِحُso becomes ماwhat مَسَتit touched مِنَof الأَرضِthe earth ضاحِياsunlit
And both say to him: Who sends forth the sun at dawn,
And say to him: Who sends the sun at dawn
So that the earth it touches becomes sunlit?
So what the earth touched becomes radiant?
فَأَنبَتَthen He caused to grow يَقطيناًa gourd عَليهاupon it بِرَحمَةٍthrough mercy
مِنَfrom اللَهِGod لَولاwere it not for اللَهِGod لَمnot يَبقَhe would remain صاحِياconscious
Then He caused a gourd to grow upon it, through mercy
He brought up lush greenery over it in mercy
From God; without God, he would not have remained conscious.
From God, without God nothing would remain alive
وَقولاand both say لَهُto him مَنwho يُنبِتُmakes sprout الحَبَّthe grain فيin الثَرىthe moist soil
فيُصبِحُso becomes مِنهُfrom it البَقلُthe green plants يَهتَزُsways رابِياgrowing tall
And both say to him: Who makes the grain sprout in the moist soil,
And say to him: Who causes grain to grow from the earth
So that green plants emerge from it, swaying and growing tall,
So stalks of wheat sway with ripeness?
وَيُخرِجُand brings forth مِنهُfrom it حَبَهُits grain فيin رُؤَوسِهِits heads
وَفيand in ذاكَthat آياتٌsigns لِمَنfor whoever كانَis واعِياmindful
And brings forth from it its grain in its heads?
And brings out from it its kernels in heads
And in that are signs for whoever is mindful.
In that are signs for whoever is aware
وَأَنتَand You بِفَضلٍby grace مِنكَfrom You نَجيِّتَYou saved يونُساًJonah

And You, by grace from You, saved Jonah,
And You in Your grace saved Jonah
And he had spent nights in the folds of a great fish.
After he spent nights in the belly of the whale
وَإِنّيand indeed I لَوeven if سَبَّحتُI glorified بِاِسمِكَin Your name رَبَّناour Lord
لَأُكثرُI would be overwhelmed إِلاّexcept for ماthat غَفَرتَYou forgave خَطائِياmy sins
And even if I glorified Your name, our Lord,
Were I to glorify You by Your name, my Lord
I would be overwhelmed, but for Your forgiveness of my sins.
I would only increase, except what You forgave me
فَرَبَّso, Lord of العِبادِthe servants أَلقِbestow سَيباًbounty وَرَحمَةًand mercy

So, Lord of Your servants, bestow bounty and mercy
So Lord of servants, cast on me well-being and mercy
Upon me, and bless my sons and my wealth.
And bless my children and my money
