God of the worlds and every land,

And Lord of the firmly rooted mountains,

He built it and raised seven mighty heavens,

Without visible pillars, and without men.

And fashioned them and adorned them with light

From the shining sun and the crescent moon,

And from meteors that sparkle in their darkness,

    Their projectiles fiercer than arrowheads.

And He split the earth, so it burst forth with springs,

And rivers of sweet, clear water.

And He blessed its regions and caused to flourish

Within it whatever crops and wealth there were.

So everyone granted long life must one day

Come to an end, as must everyone with worldly life,

And perish after their freshness, and decay,

Except the Everlasting, the Holy One, Possessor of Majesty.

And the sinners were driven, naked,

To the abode of iron clubs and chastisement.

Then they cried, 'Woe to us!' in prolonged lament,

And wailed in its long chains.

So they are not dead, that they might rest,

And all of them burn in the fire's heat.

And the God-fearing settled in an abode of truth,

And a life of comfort beneath the shade.

Theirs is whatever they desire and whatever they wished for,

Of joys and perfection within it.
