أَصابَنيhas afflicted me بَعدَكَafter your departure ضَرُّthe pain الهَوىof love
أَصابَني بَعدَكَ ضَرُّ الهَوى
وَاِعتادَنيand keeps assailing me لِلبُعدِbecause of separation إِقلاقُunrest
وَاِعتادَني لِلبُعدِ إِقلاقُ
In your absence, love's pain has afflicted me.
After you left, love’s pain struck me
And separation's unrest keeps assailing me.
And separation made me restless
قَدsurely يَعلَمُknows المَولىthe Lord وَحَسبيand sufficient for me بِهِwith Him
قَد يَعلَمُ المَولى وَحَسبي بِهِ
إِنّيthat I إِلىfor وَجهِكَyour face مُشتاقُlonging
إِنّي إِلى وَجهِكَ مُشتاقُ
The Lord surely knows—and He is enough for me—
The Lord knows, and He suffices me
That I long for your face.
