زَوَّدَني يَومَ سارَ أَحزانا

زَوَّدَني يَومَ سارَ أَحزانا

كانَ لَهُ اللَهُ حَيثُما كانا

كانَ لَهُ اللَهُ حَيثُما كانا

He gave me sorrows for provisions the day he departed.

May God be with him wherever he may be.

إِن لَم يَكُن حُبُّهُ قَد أَقلَقَني

إِن لَم يَكُن حُبُّهُ قَد أَقلَقَني

فَلا صَفا العَيشُ لي وَلا لانا

فَلا صَفا العَيشُ لي وَلا لانا

If his love has not already made me restless,

then may life be neither pleasant nor gentle to me.
