حَتّى لَقَد خِلتُها زادَت عَلى العَدَدِ
My fasting nights stretched long upon me, one after another;
My night of fasting grew long for me and stretched on,
until, indeed, I thought they had grown beyond all counting—
until I truly thought it had gone beyond reckoning,
شَوقاًout of longing إِلىfor مَجلِسٍa gathering place يَزهوglories بِساكِنِهِin its occupant

أَعيذُهُ بِجَلالِ الواحِدِ الصِمَدِ
for longing for a gathering made radiant by the one within,
out of longing for a gathering place that glories in its occupant,
whom I commend to the majestic protection of the One, the Eternal Refuge.
for whom I seek protection through the majesty of the One, the Self-Sufficient.
