The heart recalled a memory of its Asma',

Though it had already borne separation from Amat al-Ghaffar.

By God, her namesake was never mentioned in my presence

Without tears welling in my eyes and streaming down.

As though they were pearls on a thread strung by a woman,

The fresh thread's strands were severed, and the pearls scattered.

Ah, may God make a house you inhabit flourish,

O Umm Bishr, and may He water your home with rain.

Two maidens of the same age: one like the sun when it rose

On an overcast day, and the other resembling the moon.
