When you are alone with a beloved, caressing him,
When you are alone with your beloved, caress him,
cover his lovely cheeks with kisses.
Fill his cheeks with kisses,

عن التحلّم للّذّاتِ والغزلِ
And make union laugh by parting from him, and turn
Make him laugh with love after estrangement,
from restraint toward pleasures and love-play.
Do not refrain from play and flirtation,

Nothing is lovelier than a hand squeezed
Nothing is more beautiful than a hand you caress,
by a hand, and eyes gazing into eyes,
A hand, and a glance that turns to a glance,

And a mouth - a mouth of sweetness when kissed,
as though its saliva were a kind of honey.
As if its saliva were a kind of honey,

At last, when you have attained what you desire without distress,
Until when you attain what you desire without struggle,
then make your bed upon his back and buttocks.
Then make your sleep above the mattress and pillow,

إليك عنّي فإنّي عنكَ في شُعُل
And say to whoever reproaches you for a pastime that delights you:
And say to him who blames you for playful joy:
Away from me, for I am amid flames, with no thought for you.
"Turn from me, for I from you am in flames."

Indeed, the bore is the one deprived of his pleasure.
Surely the heavy spirited is the deprived of his pleasure -
May God not bless anyone who goes about being tiresome.
May God not bless him who goes about heavy spirited!
