جرِّبوا عوداً فقلت لهم

جرِّبوا عوداً فقلت لهم

إذْ أصابوا حبَّذا وِردِي

Try a piece of wood; then I said to them,

They strummed a lute and I said to them

When they hit the mark, “How fine is my portion!”

When you play well, my roses applaud

هكذا في الناس ذو كرمٍ

هكذا في الناس ذو كرمٍ

ولئيمٌ فاسدُ العَقد

ولئيمٌ فاسدُ العَقد

So it is among people - one is generous
