Or like the delight of one who hopes
Or like the pleasure of one hopeful
On attaining what he hopes for.

منfrom أينwhere خفْتَyou feared بأنّيthat I
من أين خفْتَ بأنّي
أُحصيكI count you فيamong الثُّقَلاءthe bores
أُحصيك في الثُّقَلاء
How did you come to fear that I
Whence got you that I
Would count you among the bores,
Count you among the unrefined

When you are more pleasing to the soul
While to the soul you are dearer
Than wealth and lasting life?
Than wealth and immortality
