هنتك أمير المؤمنين سعادةٌ

هنتك أمير المؤمنين سعادةٌ

وإقبالُ عِزّ جاء بالنُّجح مقرونَا

وإقبالُ عِزّ جاء بالنُّجح مقرونَا

May happiness gladden you, Commander of the Faithful,

Your happiness, O Commander of the Faithful, is felicity

and the advent of glory, coming coupled with success.

And the coming of mighty glory, paired with success

أتاك به حَوْلٌ سعيدٌ مبشِّرٌ

أتاك به حَوْلٌ سعيدٌ مبشِّرٌ

بأنّك فيه تملِك الهندَ والصِّينا

بأنّك فيه تملِك الهندَ والصِّينا

A happy year has brought it to you, bearing glad tidings

It has come to you in a blessed time, heralding

that in it you will rule India and China,

That you possess India and China

وتعلو ملوكَ الأرضِ طُرّاً مظفَّراً

وتعلو ملوكَ الأرضِ طُرّاً مظفَّراً

بعزّ يُعزُّ الملكَ سَيفُك والدِّنيا

بعزّ يُعزُّ الملكَ سَيفُك والدِّنيا

and rise above all the kings of the earth, triumphant,

And tower over the kings of earth, victorious

with might through which your sword strengthens kingship and the world.

With might that empowers the kingdom - your sword and fortune

تفاءلتُ بالسَّبْعِين أَنَّك خالدٌ

تفاءلتُ بالسَّبْعِين أَنَّك خالدٌ

مُبقيًّ على الأَيّام والمُلك سَبْعينا

مُبقيًّ على الأَيّام والمُلك سَبْعينا

I took seventy as a good omen that you would live forever,

I augured from seventy that you are eternal

preserved through the days and in kingship for seventy years.

Remaining through the days and kingdom for seventy years

ولو كان لي حُكْمٌ لأَهديتُ صِحَّتي

ولو كان لي حُكْمٌ لأَهديتُ صِحَّتي

إليكَ وعمري ثُمَّ ما كنتُ مغبونا

إليكَ وعمري ثُمَّ ما كنتُ مغبونا

And if I had the power, I would give my health

If I had any authority I would give you my health

to you, and my lifespan; then I would not be at a loss.

And my life, and not feel I had lost

فلا زال من يَنوي لك السوءَ ناقصاً

فلا زال من يَنوي لك السوءَ ناقصاً

يَروحُ ويغَدو راغِم الأَنفِ مَلعْونا

يَروحُ ويغَدو راغِم الأَنفِ مَلعْونا

So may whoever intends you harm remain diminished,

So one who intends you harm remains deficient

going evening and morning, his nose in the dust, accursed.

Going and coming, forced against his will, cursed

وصلَّى عليك اللهُ يا بنَ نبِيّهِ

وصلَّى عليك اللهُ يا بنَ نبِيّهِ

وزادك مِن نُعماهُ آمينَ آمينا

وزادك مِن نُعماهُ آمينَ آمينا

And may God bless you, O son of His Prophet,

May God pray upon you, O son of His Prophet

and grant you more of His bounty. Amen, amen.

And increase His blessings upon you, amen amen
