But when longing consumes me,
Except that when melancholy preoccupies me,
I seek healing in a vision of you.
I seek healing in seeing you in my dreams.
لاmay not أرانيshow me الإلهGod غَيْرَكother than you مَوْلىًa master
لا أراني الإله غَيْرَك مَوْلىً
لاno ولاnor اجتاحنيdevastate me بوشكِwith the imminence of نواكاseparation from you
لا ولا اجتاحني بوشكِ نواكا
May God never show me a master other than you,
I do not see other than you as my master,
No, nor devastate me with imminent separation from you.
Nor does your love's tumult overwhelm me.
أناI لوif رُمتI sought شكرَto give thanks for بعضِsome of أيادِيfavors
أنا لو رُمت شكرَ بعضِ أيادِي
كyour لأَعْياwould surely prove too difficult عَلَيّfor me إدراكaccomplishing ذاكاthat
ك لأَعْيا عَلَيّ إدراك ذاكا
Were I to seek to give thanks for some of your favors,
If I attempted to give thanks for some of your kind acts,
accomplishing that would prove beyond me.
I would be too weary to grasp even that.
