وفضلتَ العُرْب والعَجما

You have risen above the star in nobility,

and surpassed the Arabs and non-Arabs.

كم سَقيتَ السُّمْر من عَطَشٍ

ثم أَنهلتَ السيوفَ دما

ثم أَنهلتَ السيوفَ دما

How often you have quenched the tawny spears' thirst,

then given the swords their fill of blood.

وأجبتَ الجودَ مبتدئاً

وأجبتَ الجودَ مبتدئاً

فتركت المال مقتسَما

فتركت المال مقتسَما

And you answered Generosity's call of your own accord,

so you left your wealth shared out.

ما رآك الجود مبتسماً

ما رآك الجود مبتسماً

قطّ إلا افترّ وابتسما

قطّ إلا افترّ وابتسما

Never has Generosity seen you smiling

without beaming and smiling in return.

هكذا تسمو مكارم من

هكذا تسمو مكارم من

لم يزل يستخدم الهمما

لم يزل يستخدم الهمما

Thus soar the noble qualities of one

who has always put lofty ambitions to work.
