To that distant figure bidding farewell.
وهُبَّand blow علىupon منthe one whose شفَّhas wasted جِسمِيmy body بِعادُهhis absence
وهُبَّ على من شفَّ جِسمِي بِعادُه
سَمُوماًas a scorching wind بماwith what استمليتَyou have drawn مِنfrom نارِthe fire of أضلعِيmy ribs
سَمُوماً بما استمليتَ مِن نارِ أضلعِي
And blow upon the one whose absence has wasted my body,
As a scorching wind, with what you have drawn from the fire within my ribs.

تنفُّسُthe breathing of مشتاقٍone who longs لوجهِكfor your face موجَعِpain-stricken
تنفُّسُ مشتاقٍ لوجهِك موجَعِ
And if he says, 'What is this scorching heat?' then tell him:
'The breath of one aching with longing for your face.'
