And a concerned woman, fearing death for me,

rebukes me for trading patience for deadly violence.

So I said to her: "Do not reproach me for seeking greatness.

Is not the taste of humiliation worse than death?

It pains my sword, my spear, and my resolve

that I sit like a coward beneath calamity, weeping."
