وتبكي لحبّ أزاهِيرِها
And a stream tossing up bubbles,
With a water-pourer scattering bubbles,
and weeping for love of its blossoms.
Weeping for the love of its flowers.

Its tears flowed as a lover's tears flow,
Its tears flowed like the tears of a lover,
and it lamented in the voice of its waterwheels.
Lamenting in the voice of its streams.

وريحاننا نَشْرُ كافورِها
So its tears dilute the wine in our cups,
Its tears mingle in our cups,
and our fragrant herbs are the scent of its camphor,
Its basil is the diffusion of its camphor.

beside a garden whose adornment is its blossoms,
In a garden where its adornment is its light,
guarded by the eyes of its watchmen.
Protected by the eyes of its guards.

When the embroidery of its banners stirred our longing,
When we pluck the flowers of its standards,
the eyes of its gazelles took us captive.
The eyes of its maids captivate us.

It turns the skin of morning to gold
The plain of dawn returns golden
when it shines above its dinars.
When it shines above its dinars.

And better than the expressions of clouds
when they cast down their glass flasks,
When they hurl their containers.

The standing of dew above its redness,
and the east wind breathing into its flutes.
And the blowing of the breeze in its flutes.

We stabbed the morning breeze in its nostrils,
and attained our wishes in its secluded chambers.
And attained our purpose in its cups.

When she steps out in her bracelets.

As if its incense were her glances,

Trying to justify her excuses.

There is no good in wine unless it is aided
No good in joy unless you aid it
by languishing eyes and their languid gaze.
With the sickness of eyes and their allurement.

We made pilgrimage to the tavern
to drink it at its winepresses.
To drink it in its cups.

Vintages handed down, from which time
its dregs, leaving its best intact.
Refined its wine and preserved its goodness.

The reveler kisses it in the dawn
and dyes both his sleeves with its light.
And dyes his sleeve from its light.

For you have no excuse.

And he hopes for my downfall - but can he transgress?
the commander of high honors set out at dawn like their subordinate?
The prince of grandeur is like his ruler.

Leave glory to me, not to your lords,
Leave the grandeur to me apart from your masters
for I am a rampart above its rampart.
For I am a wall upon its wall.

and soothed the loneliness of its forsaken part.
And consoled the loneliness of its abandoned ones.

I have filled your eyes with dust;
You have filled your eyes with dust -
enough for you is to wipe that dust away.
So enough for you is its wiping.

Have filled the sky with its multiplication.

thereby matching my stride through its purification.
Thus overstepping my path with its cleansing.
