And when a sweet fragrance wafted to me

from the peaches likened to cheeks,

I recalled her front teeth through it, but

her front teeth have a greater excellence.

It is as though the earth were musk or perfume

when she inclines toward it in prostration.

It is as though her tongue were an alif and a lam,

so it is capable of nothing but refusal.

A maiden whose speech is the fulfillment of wishes,

and the coolness of union with her is the abode of eternity.
