Do you not see the overcast sky calling us to merriment,

And the clouds strutting in their new robes,

And the rain, its pearls scattered forth,

As though they were the tears of a wasted, ailing sufferer?

It is as though the sky, to its beholder, were wrapped

In a dark, bordered cloak sprinkled with gold.

For everyone who knows its delight, it is a duty

On a day like this to don amusement and play.
