Was it love of al-Kinana that turned you away from Faruq,
The love of earthly beauty or your Lord's love to bless you
or love of your Lord that called you to bliss?

O flower of beauty, for whom youth has withered
For parting with it though still fair of form
at her departure, and flourishing beauty has faded.

For God has made you equal to the righteous
for God has indeed made you equal to the righteous.
