بيضاء ذات ملاحةٍ وتكرمِ
She rose, offering us suns in stars—
Our mornings offered cups
A fair-skinned woman of beauty and generosity.
Of stars, bright with salt's savor and generosity.

أشهى وأشرف منهما ما في فمي
So great was her coquetry, she almost said to us:

"What is in my mouth is more delectable and nobler than them both."
"We're tastier and nobler than what fills your mouth."

Until, when the straining cloth was lifted and she saw
But when the tumult rose and I saw
The wine's outpouring, like a cloud of crimson dye,
The wine flow copiously as gifts from guests,

She placed her hand over the vessel and recited,
"It is camphor's custom to staunch blood."
As camphor's wont, to stanch the blood.
