ولكن ثريا بنتكم فتنت عقلي
One like me is not enamored of the stars of the Pleiades,
The stars of chandeliers do not fascinate me like you,
But Thurayya, your daughter, has bewitched my mind.
But your star Thuria has captivated my mind,
دعوهاthey called her ثرياThurayya حينwhen حلتsettled بطوقهاin her necklace
دعوها ثريا حين حلت بطوقها

وباقي نجوم الليل في حافة الحجل
They called her Thurayya when the Pleiades settled in her necklace,
Call her Thuria when she appeared with her necklace,
And the rest of the stars of night lay along the rim of her anklet.
And the rest of the night stars on the edge of the new moon,

Blessed is He who greeted the roses of her cheeks
Blessed is He who gave life to the roses of her cheeks,
With irises of hair resembling sandy gold,
With a lily branch that resembles sandy gold,

And adorned her smooth chin and mouth,
With dew upon fire, and fire upon dew,
With honey over fire and fire over honey,

عيوني لها مثلاً تعالت عن المثل
And bewildered me with her—for, by God, never have
She confused me, by God, my eyes have never seen,
My eyes seen her equal; she is beyond compare.
Anyone like her, she is above all comparison.
