أسير للمعروف من سيره

O moon who has come forth from his monastery,

O moon that comes from his monastery

I journey toward goodness, following his path.

Going towards good deeds apparent in his journey

لازلت بحراً مائجاً بالندى

لازلت بحراً مائجاً بالندى

لا يحرم المحتاج من خيره

لا يحرم المحتاج من خيره

May you remain a sea surging with generosity,

You remain an overflowing sea with dew

never depriving the needy of its bounty.

The needy are not deprived of your goodness

ودمت يا عزت عزّا لمن

ودمت يا عزت عزّا لمن

لا يستمد الفضل من غيره

لا يستمد الفضل من غيره

And may you, O Izzat, remain a source of strength for whoever

And you remain, O Might, mighty to those

seeks favor from no one else.

Who seek merit not derived from another
