يا سادةً رحلوا بالروح عن بلدي
وخلفونيand they left me behind قتيلslain by الوجدlonging والكمدand grief
وخلفوني قتيل الوجد والكمد
O masters who left my homeland with my soul,
O masters who have departed in spirit from my country
And left me slain by longing and grief,
And left me slain by passion and sorrow,
عودواreturn ليعرفso that he may know منthe one whose قلتhas waned أمانتهhis fidelity
عودوا ليعرف من قلت أمانته
باللَهby God كيفhow تعودreturns الروحthe soul للجسدto the body
باللَه كيف تعود الروح للجسد
Return, so that one whose fidelity has waned may learn,
Return so that those whose faithfulness I proclaimed
By God, how the soul returns to the body.
