Neither a waft of perfume nor the sweetness of the breeze,
The scent of perfume and the sweet morning breeze,
Nor the delight of the cupbearer and drinking companion in it,
The pleasure of drinking wine with friends so dear,

By the clan's gazelle with her smiling mouth,
That delight the soul when soft winds appear,

Swaying gracefully, a myrtle sprig in her hair,
A beautiful gazelle on a branch is seated,
Leaving the talebearer in a pitch-black night—
Leaving her fawn as night falls drear,

If the wine merchants heard her words,
If only the wine-seller could hear her words,
They would be enraptured and trade old wine for her fresh speech—
He'd be enthralled and give up his old wine so clear,
