لا فارق الكرب المؤبَّدُ والبَلا

من لا ينوح على الشهيد بكربُلا

من لا ينوح على الشهيد بكربُلا

May everlasting anguish and affliction never leave

Neither endless sorrow nor affliction depart

Whoever does not lament the martyr at Karbala.

One who does not lament the martyr of Karbala

إن لم تنح منا العيون ففي الحشا

إن لم تنح منا العيون ففي الحشا

مهجٌ يفتت نوحُهنَّ الجندلا

مهجٌ يفتت نوحُهنَّ الجندلا

If our eyes do not lament, within our breasts are

If our eyes do not weep, then in the inner self

Souls whose lamentation shatters stone.

There are hearts shattered, their lamentation concealed

فعلى الشهيد وآله آلِ الرضى

فعلى الشهيد وآله آلِ الرضى

مني السلامُ متمَّماً ومكمَّلا

مني السلامُ متمَّماً ومكمَّلا

So upon the martyr and his family, the family of al-Rida,

So upon the martyr and his family, the contented folk

Be peace from me, complete and perfected.

From me is the greeting, perfected and completed
