دامmay endure يومthe day الجلوسof accession فيin كلevery عامِyear
دام يوم الجلوس في كل عامِ
يحمدis praised العودthe return للمليكfor the king الهمامِthe valiant
يحمد العود للمليك الهمامِ
May Accession Day endure every year,
May the day of sitting each year endure
its return praised for the valiant king.
The lute praises the magnificent king
فهوfor it يومa day كليلةlike the Night القدرof Decree إلاexcept
فهو يوم كليلة القدر إلا
أنهthat it نيِّرٌradiant بغيرwithout ظلامdarkness
أنه نيِّرٌ بغير ظلام
For it is a day like the Night of Decree, except
It is like the night of power except
that it is radiant, without darkness.
It is bright without darkness
أنعمbestowed favor اللَهُGod بالخلافةwith the caliphate فيهon it
أنعم اللَهُ بالخلافة فيه
للإمامupon the imam الهمامthe valiant خيرthe best of الأنامmankind
للإمام الهمام خير الأنام
On it, God bestowed the caliphate
God has blessed the caliphate in it
upon the valiant imam, the best of mankind,
For the important imam, the best of people
لمرادupon Murad العلىof high glory الذيwhom أرّخوهthey dated him by chronogram
لمراد العلى الذي أرّخوه
دامmay he endure ظلّاًas a shadow للهof God فيin الإسلامIslam
دام ظلّاً لله في الإسلام
upon Murad the exalted, for whom they composed this chronogram:
For the high purpose which they dated it
May he endure as God's shadow in Islam.
It remains a shade for God in Islam
