ألا والذي لا يعبد العبد غيره

ألا والذي لا يعبد العبد غيره

ولا يتناسى فضله الحازم الحر

ولا يتناسى فضله الحازم الحر

Lo, by Him besides whom the servant worships no other,

Behold, He who is worshipped by none but His servants,

and whose bounty the resolute, free man does not willfully forget:

And does not forget the merit of the wise and the free,

لقد تبت عن حب الجآذر والمهى

لقد تبت عن حب الجآذر والمهى

ولم يبق لي في ما يريدونه فكر

ولم يبق لي في ما يريدونه فكر

I have indeed repented of loving wild-cow calves and oryx,

I have repented from frivolous love and vanity,

and I no longer give a thought to what they desire.

And no longer ponder what they desire,

وتاب علي اللَه لما دعوته

وتاب علي اللَه لما دعوته

وأعرضت عن جهلي له الحمد والشكر

وأعرضت عن جهلي له الحمد والشكر

And God accepted my repentance when I called upon Him,

God has accepted my repentance when I called Him,

and I turned away from my folly; to Him belong praise and thanks.

I turned away from my ignorance, praise and thanks be to Him.
