فاز الذي بين الملائك يرتعُ

He who revels among the angels has triumphed:
The one whose light shone among angels returns
Antoun Ayyub, the pious, the noble.
Anton Ayoub, the devout, the most virtuous
فإلامso how long نحزنwe grieve كالذينlike those who توهمواimagined
فإلام نحزن كالذين توهموا
أنthat النفوسthe souls لربهاto their Lord لاnot ترجعreturn
أن النفوس لربها لا ترجع
So how long shall we grieve, like those who imagined
Why should we grieve like those who imagined
that souls do not return to their Lord?
That souls will not return to their Lord
غفرforgave الإلهGod لهfor him وضاعفand doubled أجرهhis reward
غفر الإله له وضاعف أجره
فلقدfor indeed ثوىhe lay at rest وهباتهand his gifts تتوزعare distributed
فلقد ثوى وهباته تتوزع
God forgave him and doubled his reward,
May God forgive him and double his reward
For he lies at rest while his gifts are distributed.
For he has passed on with his gifts dispersed
ويقينهand his certainty باللَهin God طودٌa mountain راسخٌfirmly rooted
ويقينه باللَه طودٌ راسخٌ
تتزعزعquakes الدنياthe world ولاand does not يتزعزعwaver
تتزعزع الدنيا ولا يتزعزع
And his certainty in God is a firmly rooted mountain:
His faith in God was steadfast like a mountain
The world quakes, but it does not waver.
The world may shake but it does not shake
فلذاso for this reason تناديcalls out نفسهhis soul أرخrecord the date لناfor us
فلذا تنادي نفسه أرخ لنا
ياO آلfamily of أيوبAyyub البتولةthe Virgin تشفعintercedes
يا آل أيوب البتولة تشفع
So his soul calls out: 'Record the date for us:
Therefore his soul calls out "Intercede for us"
O family of Ayyub, the Virgin intercedes.'
O Ayoub family, the maiden intercedes
