وبيضاء الترائب من مَعَدٍّ

حماها اللَه من أنسٍ وجانِ

حماها اللَه من أنسٍ وجانِ

And a white-bosomed woman of Maʿadd,

With shimmering white clothing from Ma'add,

God has guarded her from humans and jinn,

Protected by God from human and jinn,

بألحاظ تدافع عن فتاةٍ

بألحاظ تدافع عن فتاةٍ

كأن نهودَها ثمر الجنان

كأن نهودَها ثمر الجنان

With glances that defend a maiden,

With glances that defend a young girl

As though her breasts were the fruit of gardens.

Whose breasts are like fruits of paradise.

إذا قامت لحاجتها تثنَّت

إذا قامت لحاجتها تثنَّت

على أترابها كغصين بان

على أترابها كغصين بان

When she rises to attend to her need, she sways

When she rises for her needs, she sways

Above her peers, like a little bān branch.

Against her companions like a bending branch.

تميل من اللطافة حيث شاءت

تميل من اللطافة حيث شاءت

كأن عظامها من خيزران

كأن عظامها من خيزران

In her delicacy, she bends wherever she wishes,

She inclines with delicacy wherever she wishes,

As though her bones were made of bamboo.

As if her bones were made of reed.

يشهيك المنى نظراً إليها

يشهيك المنى نظراً إليها

ولو أصبحت مسلوب الجنان

ولو أصبحت مسلوب الجنان

Wishes make you yearn for a look at her,

Looking at her arouses your desire,

Even if you find yourself robbed of your heart.

Even if you awake deprived of paradise.

ويدني الوهم وجهك من حماها

ويدني الوهم وجهك من حماها

ويصرف وجهها وجه الزمان

ويصرف وجهها وجه الزمان

And fancy draws your face near her guarded domain,

Imagination brings your face near her protection,

And the face of time turns her face away.

And turns her face from the face of time.
