أماله التيه والتنغيم بالوتر
And a twig of a waist, straight as the thread of dawn,
A form whose graceful waist is like morning's thread
Pride and music on the string made him sway.
That wandering melody and rhythm trace

خفنا لرقته شيئاً يصادفه
حتىuntil ضممناهwe held him close منout of خوفfear ومنand out of حذرcaution
حتى ضممناه من خوف ومن حذر
We feared, for his delicacy, that something might befall him,
So lightly made it seemed a thing misplaced
Until we held him close, out of fear and caution.
That we should fold it in a close embrace

هذا الصنيع بشكرٍ غير منحصر
So he thought well of us and rewarded the love-stricken one for
Deeming it good, the Giver of all grace
This deed with thanks beyond measure.
Rewards unending thankfulness for that choice
