بكوكب ناطق ألفظه دررُ
A happy day boasts above all other days
A joyous day boasts over days
of a speaking star whose words are pearls.
With a speaking planet whose utterances are pearls

Our Creator named him Tawfiq and granted him success,

فاكرمso how noble بهhe is ملكاًas a king ماnot ذمهcensured him بشرٌa mortal
فاكرم به ملكاً ما ذمه بشرٌ
ولمand not يكنwas فيamong الورىhumankind كفواًan equal لهto him بشرa mortal
ولم يكن في الورى كفواً له بشر
How noble a king he is: no mortal has censured him,
Thus honoring a king no human blamed
and no mortal among humankind has been his equal.
And there was none in the world equal to it among humans

His bounty is hoped for, and the enemy fears his might,
Its bounty is hoped for and the enemy fears its might
like the sea, in which goodness and danger are found.
Like the sea in which there is good and danger

Egypt is nothing but bliss; the light of his countenance
Egypt is nothing but the bliss of its rising

Its brilliance and the dew of its rest

And no stranger goes thirsty beneath his banner,
And the stranger is not in darkness under its flag
and from his two hands the ten seas pour forth.
And from its hands the ten seas flow
