قلبُه لا تعيش يوماً بلاه

Ask whoever knows plants: what name is it

Say to he who knows the plants what name

Whose reversal you cannot live a day without?

His heart cannot live a day without

وهو إن صحَّفوه يؤكل لكن

وهو إن صحَّفوه يؤكل لكن

يأكل الناس قلبَه لا سواه

يأكل الناس قلبَه لا سواه

And if they alter its letter-dots, it is eaten, but

And if they misspell it, it is edible, but

People eat its heart alone, nothing else.

Only his heart do people eat, none other
