هذي المدينة فانزل بي حواليها

هذي المدينة فانزل بي حواليها

واقصد مشيدا عتيقا في أعاليها

This is the city; so alight with me in its environs.

This is the city, so descend with me around it

And make for a lofty, ancient edifice in its upper reaches.

And head to an ancient building in its heights

وادخل لتنظر جمعا زان متجرها

وقل سلام على الزهرا وأهليها

وقل سلام على الزهرا وأهليها

And enter to see a gathering that graced its marketplace.

And enter to see the splendor of its market

And say, “Peace upon al-Zahra and her people.”

And say peace to the flowers and its people
