When she mentions Abd al-Hamid, there gleam
Whenever Abdul Hamid is mentioned,
Swords of hers that welcome the attacking enemy.
Swords that drink the attacking enemy flash.
نفوسsouls ترىdeem حملbearing السلاحarms فريضةa religious duty

Souls that deem bearing arms a religious duty,

And see shooting before it worsens as inevitable.
لهاshe has هممaspirations علياlofty ترىdeem الذلabasement خسةbaseness
لها همم عليا ترى الذل خسة
ترىdeem الذودdefense عنof أوطانهاher homelands متحتماimperative
ترى الذود عن أوطانها متحتما
Hers are lofty aspirations that deem abasement base;
It has high ambitions that see humiliation as base,
She deems the defense of her homelands imperative.
And see defending its homelands as imperative.
ومنand whoever لمdoes not يذدdefend عنin defense of حوضهhis watering place بسيوفهwith his swords يهدمis destroyed
ومن لم يذد عن حوضه بسيوفه يهدم
مقالa saying صاغهfashioned it منone who تقدماcame before

And whoever does not defend his watering place with his swords is destroyed—
And whoever did not defend his basin with his swords will be destroyed,
A saying fashioned by one who came before.
A saying forged by the one who excelled.

لها بشطوط البحر كل غضنفر
لهhe has بسلاحof the weaponry of العصرthe age علمknowledge تحكماfirmly established
له بسلاح العصر علم تحكما
On the seashores, every fierce lion is hers,
It has in the shores of the sea every young lion,
Each with a commanding knowledge of the weapons of the age.
It has with the weapons of the age learned mastery.

سوى خوضهم لله في لجج الدما
They fast and stand in prayer, seeing no virtue
Fasting, praying, they do not see any virtue,
Except their plunging, for God, into deep seas of blood.
Other than their plunge into seas of blood for God.
لهمthey have بلواto the banner of عبدAbd (servant) الحميدal-Hamid (the Praiseworthy) تعلقattachment
لهم بلوا عبد الحميد تعلق
يرونthey see الهدىright guidance فيin طوعهobedience to him ومغانماand spoils
يرون الهدى في طوعه ومغانما
They are bound to the banner of Abd al-Hamid;
They are devoted to Abdul Hamid,
They see right guidance and spoils in obedience to him.
They see guidance in his obedience and spoils.
بلىyes indeed ولهمand they have فيin كلevery قطرland مساعدa helper
بلى ولهم في كل قطر مساعد
اذاwhen التهبتblazes نارthe fire of العدوthe enemy ودمدماand he thunders
اذا التهبت نار العدو ودمدما
Yes, and in every land they have a helper,
Yes, and for them in every region an ally,
When the enemy's fire blazes and he thunders.
