وللجلفةand to Djelfa الفخرglory العظيمgreat وحزبهاand its community
وللجلفة الفخر العظيم وحزبها
غداhas become مركزاa center منهfrom it المحامدvirtues تنبعspring forth
غدا مركزا منه المحامد تنبع
And great glory belongs to Djelfa, and its community
To al-Jalifa goes great pride and glory,
Has become a center from which virtues spring.
Its party shall tomorrow be the source of all praise.
يرىsees عجباa marvel منwhoever زارvisited مسجدهمtheir mosque إذاwhen
يرى عجبا من زار مسجدهم إذا
تبسمsmiled ثغرmouth الفجرdawn والقومand the people ركعbowing in prayer
تبسم ثغر الفجر والقوم ركع
Whoever visits their mosque sees a marvel when
Amazed is he who visits their mosque,
The mouth of dawn smiles, and the people bow in prayer.
When the smile of dawn appears and the people bow down.
يرىsees مجلساa gathering فيهin it السكينةserenity خيمتhas encamped
يرى مجلسا فيه السكينة خيمت
وللوعظand preaching has تأثيرan effect يرىsees العينthe eye تدمعsheds tears
وللوعظ تأثير يرى العين تدمع
He sees a gathering where serenity has pitched its tent,
He sees a gathering in which tranquility has pitched its tent,
And preaching has its effect: he sees the eye shed tears.
And preaching has an effect, with eyes seen to weep.
يرىsees حلقةa circle القرآنthe Qur’an والقومand the people حولهاaround it
يرى حلقة القرآن والقوم حولها
جلوسseated علىin الترتيبorder والكلand everyone خشعhumbly reverent
جلوس على الترتيب والكل خشع
He sees a Qur’an circle, and the people around it
He sees a circle of the Quran with people around it,
Are seated in order, all humbly reverent.
Sitting in order, all humble and devout.
فللهso, to God belongs جمعa gathering نظمتهarranged it عنايةcare
فلله جمع نظمته عناية
فقلدso it adorned جيدthe neck الدهرtime عقداًa necklace مرصعgem-studded
فقلد جيد الدهر عقداً مرصع
God be praised for a gathering that care has assembled;
So to God belongs the order He has set,
Thus it has adorned time’s neck with a gem-studded necklace.
Adorning the neck of time with a bejeweled necklace.
هنالكمthere الشهمthe gallant man الشريفthe noble الذيwho غداhas become
هنالكم الشهم الشريف الذي غدا
بهمتهthrough his resolve عندin times of الشدائدhardships ينفعhelps
بهمته عند الشدائد ينفع
There is the gallant, noble man who has become
There is the noble, honorable one who has become,
A help in times of hardship through his resolve.
With his resolve in times of adversity, beneficial.
همامa man of noble spirit رأىrecognized للضيفfor the guest قدراworth فماand did not انثنىdesist
همام رأى للضيف قدرا فما انثنى
يبرهنgives proof عنof إخلاصهhis sincerity إذas يودعhe bids farewell
يبرهن عن إخلاصه إذ يودع
A man of noble spirit, he recognized the guest’s worth and never ceased
A protector who saw for the guest generosity,
To give proof of his sincerity as he bade farewell.
Demonstrating his sincerity as he bids farewell.
