إنا أتيناه والحزب الجليل به

قد صف ليلاً ولكن الهوا صاح

Indeed, we came to it, while the noble company there

We came to it, and the noble party within

Had formed ranks at night, yet the air was clear.

Had arrayed itself there by night, but desire was wakeful.

فيهم أبو طيبة القاضي الغيور ومن

آدابه تستميل الروح كالراح

Among them is Abu Tayba, the zealous judge, and one whose

So delight in a palace and a company whose ring was adorned

So enjoy a palace and a party whose seal

By a gemstone; they welcomed a guest with rejoicing.
