بَينيbetween me وَبَينَكَand between you فيin المَوَدّةِaffection نِسبَةٌa bond
بَيني وَبَينَكَ في المَوَدّةِ نِسبَةٌ
مَكتومَةconcealed عَنfrom سرّsecret هَذاthis العالَمِthe world
مَكتومَة عَن سرّ هَذا العالَمِ
Between you and me there is a bond of affection,
Between you and I there is a hidden kinship
concealed from the secret of this world.
Concealed from all in this world
نَحنُwe اللّذانthe two who تعارَفَتcame to know one another أَرواحُناour souls
نَحنُ اللّذان تعارَفَت أَرواحُنا
مِنfrom قَبلِbefore خَلقcreation اللَّهGod طينَةَclay آدمِAdam
مِن قَبلِ خَلق اللَّه طينَةَ آدمِ
We are the two whose souls came to know one another
We are the two whose souls recognized each other
before God created Adam's clay.
