ياO عَضُدَʿAḍud (support) الدينِal-Dīn (of the faith) دُعاءَthe plea of اِمرِىءٍa man
يا عَضُدَ الدينِ دُعاءَ اِمرِىءٍ
عَلىagainst التَأَلّيsolemn oath-taking بِكَthrough you مُستَنصِرِseeking aid
عَلى التَأَلّي بِكَ مُستَنصِرِ
O ʿAḍud al-Dīn, hear the plea of a man
O supporter of religion, the prayer of a man
Seeking your aid against a solemn oath.
Seeking through you help and victory,
حاشاكَfar be it from you أَنto تُقصِرَyou fall short فيin حَقِّwhat is due to لاnot
حاشاكَ أَن تُقصِرَ في حَقِّ لا
وانٍlax عَنِin الشُكرِgratitude وَلاnor مُقصِرِremiss
وانٍ عَنِ الشُكرِ وَلا مُقصِرِ
Far be it from you to neglect what is due to one neither
Far be it from you to neglect the right of one
Lax in gratitude nor remiss.
Who does not fail to show gratitude, nor falls short.
