    If you wish to kiss a mouth like pearls,

    Sweeter than the gardens' fragrance before dawn,

    And behold the radiance of a face like the moon—

    Were the reproacher fair about it, he would pardon—

    مِثلَ اِصطِباري وَاِحتِمالي لِلإِبَر

    Then endure long weeping and sleepless nights,

    As I patiently endure and bear the needles;

    For few succeed except those who persevere.

    Have you not heard: patience ends in victory?
