O Aladdin the hoped for, aid me
And save me from what has afflicted me, save me
From an old, toothless, scheming hag
Who displayed that ugly display
The describers have gone overboard about her, and said
A child in years, possessing money and beauty
So I married her, and God - may he be praised
Has, by my marrying her, denied me happiness
Hoping she would enrich my eyes, but God has disappointed my hopes
Except that I have been compensated better than her
If I contemplate, while she is poorer than me
So find me a way to be free of her
And pity me, for I have put myself in pawn
