قَولاًa statement عَنِfrom الحَقِّthe truth غَيرَnot مَدفوعِrefuted
His physicians said to his visitors
words whose truth could not be denied:
شُقّواbreak open رَغيفاًa loaf فيin وَجهِthe face of صاحِبِكُمyour companion
فَماfor ... not بِهِin him عِلَّةٌan illness سِوىexcept الجوعِhunger
“Break open a loaf before your companion’s face,
for he has no illness but hunger.”
