خَطَرْتُ في بَالِكَ دون اشْتِباهْ
Your insult delights me, since I had
Your insults please me, for it means
crossed your mind, without a doubt.
I have crossed your mind, undoubtedly.

اسمٌ على عَذْبِ اللَّمَى والشِّفَاهْ
Insults taste sweet to me, for there passed
Insults taste sweet when they allow
a name of mine across sweet, dusky lips.
My name to grace sweet lips and mouths.
إنif ذكَرَhe mentions اسْمِيmy name لَذَّis sweet ليto me ذِكْرُهhis mentioning it

If he mentions my name, his utterance delights me,
If my name crosses your mind, I'm glad,
as though I had kissed his mouth in imagination.
As if, in my imagination, I've kissed your mouth.
