للرَّوْضِ أتى حبيبُ قلبي العانِي
فاهْتزَّand it swayed لفَرْحةٍfor joy قضيبُthe branch of البانِthe bān tree
فاهْتزَّ لفَرْحةٍ قضيبُ البانِ
To the garden came the beloved of my captive heart.
To the garden came the lover of my aching heart
And the bān tree's branch swayed for joy.
So the willow tree trembled with joy
لوif كانthere were لِسَرْوِfor the cypress of رَوضِناour garden ساقانِtwo legs

If the cypress of our garden had two legs,
If our garden's cypress had legs
It would not part from the bough of his bewitching form.
It's charming branch would not leave it
