The sea has embraced him in its depths, for fear that

the earth might harm a body within it, wearing it away.

فالماء خر على رأس لفرقته

والموج يلطم والاطيار تبكيه

So the water fell headfirst at parting from him,

and the waves beat their cheeks, while the birds weep for him.
