She rose, trailing the hems of pride and contention.
She rose, dragging the trains of wandering and contention,
And the cheek of twilight reddened with shame.
And the cheek of dusk blushed red with embarrassment,

A leafy grove weighed down with the fruits of jewelry,
Laden with the fruits of ornament,
her blossoms the palm of hope has never plucked.
Its flowers did not yield to the comfort of hope,

The east wind's messengers travel, seeking her before dawn,
The messengers of the morning breeze roam it at dawn
stumbling in the encampment among bright swords and spears.
Stumbling in the eggs and honey,

An east breeze: despite its sickness, sickness is cured through it,
A morning rain to cure its sickness, by which illness is cured,
and sometimes bodies grow healthy through ailments.
And sometimes the bodies recover by the diseases,

It fears wounding the beloved's cheeks, and so
She fears to wound the gardens of the beloved, so
it wades in wetness from the sweat of the dews.
She wades in the perspiration of intimacy in moistness.
